New York Trip with Kait

Well, so much has happened since my last post. I have taken the new position at CIO surgery center as a pre/post anesthesia nurse. I have also taken a new position at my current hospital in their resource dept. I will give them 32 hours biweekly for a lot more money doing the same job as when I was PRN. I am loving the new job and adjusting to the increase in hours at my hospital. This year is my year to really grow in my field and build some experience and hopefully with experience confidence in my skills as a nurse will come. It is hard to have confidence when you hardly ever work.

As for the NY trip, Kait and I had a blast! NY is an awesome city, very clean and full of excitement. We were paired with one of Kait's best girlfriends and her mother Lisa (also one of my good friends). We roomed together and rode on the same bus. It was almost like our mini girls vacation. We arrived in NY city after driving all night to see the Today Show be filmed at Rockerfella Plaza. Pretty cool! We tevoed it and found ourselves on TV! We then left to tour the West side, Manhattan and the Bronks by bus. We visited China Town and Little Italy and shopped for about 40minutes. I would have rather shopped at Times Square, but brought back some cool souveniers anyhow. After a long day we ate at an Italian resturaunt and then checked into our hotel. The next morning was up and at em' early to go to Staton Island College for the Band Competition. We were competing against High School. Kait's class has always been very gifted in the music, arts area. We were so proud to take first place trophy in their division, but sad to have missed the Grand Champion Mother of a trophy by only 2 tenths of a point. Still a very proud moment for me and the other parents. We took a tour of Ellis Island where we enjoyed the Statue of Liberty, then headed back to 42nd street for a broadway play "Mary Poppins". I would highly recommend anyone of any age to go to this, Wow! Incredible! We had our awards ceremony at the Midevil Times Castle in New Jersey where again our luck was running high... Kait, Maria, Lisa and I got booth seats (really cool, there are only 4 booths in the arena... the best seats). We had soo much fun and will cherish our memories.

After a very long trip home, It was on to Taylor's Gymnastic State Meet! She did such a good job and brought back 5 medals!!!! We are so proud of her for sticking with it when she had been so discouraged early on. I will post pics soon!
